Being an Indian you would be familiar with the greatness and contributions of the outstanding personality Sardar Vallabbhai Patel. He is one amongst key figures who positively and effectively planned the independence movement of India. He is known as the Ironman of India and the statue is dedicated to his courage and pride. Standing 182 meters high, the statue of unity is portraying integrity and unity of India.   

The statue of unity has become a center of attraction for tourists 

From the very beginning of its inauguration, the statue of unity has been attracting so many tourists from all around the world. It is considered to be the tallest man-made structure on earth, standing 180 meters high and built with expense of near about 3000 crore. 

The city of Ahmedabad is around 200 kilometers away from the statue, but good communication via road makes the journey easier. The location of the statue is certainly not a matter of concern; it grabs the attention of outnumbered tourists anyway. It surpassed the statue of liberty as well as China’s statue of Buddha.

Attractions at the site 

Selfie is a hot topic, especially for today’s generation. The selfie point will allow you enjoying a great view of the surrounding. At the site, you will also get to visit an audio-video gallery and a museum as well. A laser light show is arranged to inform the visitors about the unification process of the country after independence.

Ticket prices are divided into two categories 1) adults and 2) children.

Timing 

The site is open throughout the week from 9 am to 6 pm, except the Monday because of the maintenance.  

How to get your ticket

You can consider taking your ticket from the site or use your debit card or net banking for booking it, no extra charges are required. But, if you want to pay for your tickets using your credit card, then you need to pay extra 1%, adding GST on the entire amount.

Riding a helicopter 

From its outset, the statue of unity has been providing ferry rides for the tourists. But, recently they have added another attraction, helicopter ride so the visitors can get an aerial sight, enjoying a top view of the Sardar Sarovar Dam as well as the statue of unity.  Narmada River and Vindhya hill is also a beauty of nature to see during the ride.

If you want to take the helicopter ride, you need to pay Rs 2900, accommodating 5 to 7 individuals for 10 minutes. The booking of helicopter ride is only possible from the site; no online booking option is available.
